I dedicate my life's work to Meg and this cause.  She was a beautiful spirit and a light to our world that will be loved and missed until the day I leave the planet to join her.

Megan was twenty years old when she burned herself alive attempting to withdraw from a cocktail of psychiatric drugs.  She had first tried to hang herself with her shoelaces from the livingroom ceiling fan.  She was unsuccessful, so she entered her younger sister's bedroom, poured the oil from an angel-shaped lantern over herself and ignited it.  The coroner's report said she had 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 95% of her body.  Only her feet had been spared.

Included in the drugs she was taking was the highly addicting, and extremely dangerous SSRI antidepressant, Effexor.  Effexor has been proven to cause 8-10 times the suicidal ideation as placebo in clinical trials, and includes "homicidal ideation" in its package insert as an adverse event of the drug.

Megan experienced severe protracted withdrawal from her medication for several months.  She was socially isolated and withdrawn, paranoid, depressed, despondent, anxious, angry and occasionally violent, as well as suicidal during this time.

To read her entire story, please purchase my book, Confessions of an Rx Drug Pusher.  Inform yourself and anyone you know taking these drugs.  The next victim could be someone you know...or love!
